Royal Canadian Air Force personnel will be at the Shearwater Aviation Museum at 12 Wing in Shearwater, NS on August 2 for a dedication parade to mark the 100th anniversary of the base.
As part of the celebrations, there will be a dedication parade for an outdoor Aviation Park. The park will have three historical aircraft including a CT-133 Silver Star, a TBM Avenger, and a CH-124 Sea King, according to the Canadian Forces. It will also display historical monuments depicting the history of Shearwater’s squadrons.
Additionally, two CH-124 Sea Kings will be presented to the Shearwater Aviation Museum as a permanent display, according to the Canadian Forces.
Following the parade, there will be a memorial service at the Shearwater Chapel to pay respects to fallen members of the maritime aviation community.
